Betty Griffin House provides emergency shelter to abused women and their minor children and temporary shelter for rape victims in danger after the crime. Other support services available to shelter residents and nonresidents include a 24-hour crisis hotline, individual and group counseling, case management, civil legal representation, and court advocacy. Hastings Youth Academy is a moderate risk, secure 184 bed juvenile facility with an average length of stay of 6 to 9 months. This program has three components— Behavioral Health Overlay Services (BHOS) slots, Intensive Mental Health Treatment slots and Specialized Mental Health Treatment slots. A psychologist is on staff full time and psychiatric consultation is available 8 hours per week. St. Johns County School Board provides on site educational services to include both high school and GED courses of study. Vocational training consists of food services preparation. Sex offender treatment is NOT provided. Uniforms and all youth clothing are provided. Medical services are provided (7) days a week, 5:00 am to 9:00 pm. Click for more.
