Our Role in St. Johns County
Facilities Management provides comprehensive facilities services including property management and maintenance for all properties and buildings owned by the Board of County Commissioners.

We are also responsible to ensure that our facilities and staff procedures and practices are compliant with current Civil Rights Act and Americans with DIsabilities Act rules and regulations as well as handle requests for information and complaints. Each division of Facilities Management strives to provide an attractive, clean, and safe environment for all users of County facilities in a cost effective manner, utilizing knowledgeable and courteous staff with up-to-date equipment and methodologies.
The Building Operations Division is responsible for property management and operations of approximately 2 million square feet of County facilities, including the Hastings School building and the Health & Human Services building. Building Operations manages:
- Life safety and access control systems
- The Central Receiving mail program
- Janitorial and facility maintenance services to select sites
- Complaints regarding Civil Rights or the Americans with Disabilities Act issues within St. Johns County facilities and programs.

The Facilities Maintenance Division provides the full spectrum of facility maintenance and repair services for approximately 2 million square feet of County facilities. These properties include:
- Recreational parks and entertainment venues
- Public safety facilities
- General administrative offices
- Criminal justice facilities
The program's goal is to ensure that County buildings and facilities reliably and efficiently perform the functions for which they were designed and constructed throughout their service life.
