St. Johns County is currently accepting applications for the following volunteer Board and Committee vacancies. Please call 904.209.0300 for more information or to obtain an application.

Mid-Anastasia Design Review Board
Purpose of Committee: The purpose of the Mid-Anastasia Design Review Board is to protect natural resources, maintain and enhance the diverse and unique character of the Mid-Anastasia Overlay District and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board’s (DRB) primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.08.00 Mid-Anastasia Overlay District of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.
Qualifications: Must be a St. Johns County resident who has shown an interest in the history and design of the Anastasia Community. At least two regular members shall own or operate an active business with a physical presence within the District. These shall meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirement. In the event there are no applicants meeting the above criteria, a member who resides within the Overlay District may be appointed. At least one regular member shall have experience in architecture, design, planning, landscape architecture, history, or other relevant expertise of the Anastasia Community. This member shall meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirement. At least three members shall reside within the Overlay District. Members are required to file a financial disclosure.
Meeting Schedule: This Board meets the second Thursday of every month at 3:00pm in the County Permit Center, 4040 Lewis Speedway.

North Coastal Corridor Overlay District Design Review Board
Purpose of Committee: The purpose of the North Coastal Design Review Board is to maintain, protect and enhance the diverse and unique character of the North Coastal Corridor and its established beach community, respect the well-documented history of the area and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board’s (DRB) primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.09.00 North Coastal Overlay District and Part 3.10.00 Vilano Beach Town Center Overlay of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.
Qualifications: Must be a St. Johns County resident who has shown an interest in the history and design of the North Coastal and Vilano Community. At least two regular members shall own or operate an active business with a physical presence within the District. These members do not need to meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirement. At least one regular member shall demonstrate experience and expertise in architecture, design, planning, landscape architecture, history, or other relevant expertise of the North Coastal and Vilano Community. This member does not need to meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirement. All other members shall meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirements and shall reside within the North Coastal Overlay District; or within the Vilano Town Center Mixed Used Overlay District. Members are required to file a financial disclosure.

South Anastasia Design Review Board
Purpose of Committee: The purpose of the South Anastasia Design Review Board is to protect and preserve the “Old Florida” style, rural beach community in the South Anastasia Overlay District and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board’s (DRB) primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.07.00 South Anastasia Overlay of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.
Qualifications: Must be a St. Johns County resident who has shown an interest in the history and design of the Anastasia Community. At least one regular member shall own or operate an active business with a physical presence within the District and meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirements. In the event there are no qualified applicants for this position, an applicant that meets the Membership Area overlay residency requirements may be appointed. At least one regular member shall have experience in architecture, design, planning, landscape architecture, history, or other relevant expertise of the Anastasia
Community. This member does not need to meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirement. All other members shall meet the Membership Area overlay residency requirements and shall reside on Anastasia Island and reside south of Dondanville Road. Members are required to file a financial disclosure.

Arts/ Culture / Heritage Funding Panel
Purpose of Committee: To review and evaluate proposals for St. Johns County not-for-profit organizations which provide programming and events of a cultural, artistic or heritage nature that will attract visitors and are enjoyed by residents.
Qualifications: Applicants shall have a demonstrated interest and knowledge in the tourism/cultural development and promotion industry. Vacancies are for non-resident positions and serve a term of one (1) year. All members serve at the pleasure of the Commission and are eligible to serve up to four consecutive terms.
Meeting Schedule: This Panel meets quarterly (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct) at the County Administration Building, 500 San Sebastian View. Additional special meetings may be called, when needed, particularly during budget preparation.

Architectural Review Committee
Purpose of Committee:
To ensure enhanced property development while maintaining and encouraging quality character of design within the Ponte Vedra and Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Overlay Districts in line with the goals and objectives of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan.
Qualifications: Seeking applicants who are a registered architect in the State of Florida or a retired architect formerly registered in the State of Florida, reside within the Ponte Vedra Zoning District and those within District 4, but outside of the Ponte Vedra Zoning District. Regular members as well as alternates serve a term of four (4) year.
Meeting Schedule: This committee meets every fourth Wednesday of each month from 5-8:30 p.m. in the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

West Augustine Nuisance Abatement Board
Purpose of Committee: To conduct hearings regarding complaints of public nuisance within the West Augustine CRA. Also, promote, protect, and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens and businesses within the West Augustine Community Revitalization Area (CRA).
Qualifications: Applicant must be a County resident for at least one year, 18 years or older and residing within or operating a business within the West Augustine CRA. Members serve a term of two (2) years. Applicants are required to file a financial disclosure.
Meeting Schedule: This board meets quarterly.

Contractors Review Board
Purpose of Committee:
To insure proper administration of contractor licensing and discipline of licensees. Qualifications: Applicants must be a resident of St. Johns County for at least two years prior to appointment.  Seeking licensed, professional Pool Contractor and resident of St. Johns County with no contractor industry involvement. Members serve a term of four (4) years.
Meeting Schedule: This Board meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 5:00pm in the County Auditorium, 500 San Sebastian View.

Library Advisory Board
Purpose of Committee:
To advise the County on the establishment, operation and maintenance of free public library service within St. Johns County.
Qualifications
: Seeking representation from County Commission District 1 and 2. Members shall be appointed to two (2) year terms.
Meeting Schedule: This Board meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 9:30am with the meeting location rotating each month to a specific branch library.
