Funding and Political Strategies
Facilitator: Pam Petersen- Baston, MPA, CAP, CAPP
Ms. Petersen-Baston will provide a brief overview of funding and political strategies used around the country to assist communities in obtaining quality Behavioral Health Services for children in our community. Group participants will share ideas on what strategies and services that maybe viable for St. Johns County.
Building an Advocacy Group
Facilitators: Schuyler Siefker, SAYS Executive Director and
Patti Greenough, CEO EPIC Behavioral Healthcare
Mrs. Greenough and Mrs. Schuyler will provide information on policies and procedures to build an effective advocacy group that will diligently work on behalf of your organization to raise awareness, increase funding and donations, and attract quality volunteers.
Facilitators: Dr. Christine Cauffield, CEO, LSF Health System and
Dusty Pye, Director of Child Welfare Integration, LSF Health System.
Dr. Cauffields and Mr. Pye will share some of the children’s behavioral health best practices, and methods being utilized in our region. Group participants will examine practices that are currently working in St. Johns County, and explore additional best practices methods from which our community children may benefit.
Community Engagement – Session Full
Facilitator: Melissa Nelson, CEO of United Way St. Johns County
Ms. Nelson will present ways to involve the business sector, faith-based community, volunteer organizations and community at large, in improving outcomes of Children’s Behavioral Health Services. Group participants will develop strategies to enlist and educate St. Johns County residents on the issues facing our Children, and their effects on the community, while describing ways in which their support may have a positive impact.
Youth Focused Strategies
Facilitators: Dennis Maneja, MSW, SAYS Administrative Director and
Toni Oliva, SAYS Youth Counselor / TCM.
A diverse group of high school students will discuss issues facing St. Johns County children. The group will focus on services the participants feel are needed and believe would be helpful to their peer group.
