Adjustment and Appeals Board
Purpose: To hear requests for code interpretation and cases for Unsafe Building Abatement Codes.

Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
Purpose: This advisory committee shall review the established policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and adopted local government comprehensive plan of the appointing local government and shall recommend specific actions or initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of the property to appreciate in value.

  • October – Member – Citizen representing essential services personnel. (Essential Services Personnel means any person in need of affordable housing, who is a permanent employee (excluding temporary and on-call employees) of a company or organization located within St. Johns County, including teachers and educators, police and fire personnel, health care personnel and skilled building trades personnel.)

Arts, Cultural, and Heritage Funding Panel
Purpose: The Funding Panel is an advisory committee to the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners. Its charge is to evaluate and rank funding application in accordance with the approved funding guideline as enumerated by the mission and goals established by the Tourist Development Council and in accordance with Chapter 125.0104, Florida Statues.

Citizens Flood Mitigation Advisory Committee
Purpose: The purpose of the Citizens Flood Mitigation Advisory Committee is to advise the Board of County Commissioners on floodplain management and hazard mitigation strategies. Primary responsibilities include assisting with the evaluation of (1) a program for public information, (2) a flood insurance coverage improvement plan and (3) a floodplain management or hazard mitigation plan.

Cultural Resource Review Board
Purpose: Advise the Board of County Commissioners regarding cultural, architectural, archaeological, and historical resources of St. Johns County; and to identify, evaluate, document, designate, and protect these resources.

Health and Human Services Advisory Council
Purpose: This Council evaluates human services programs in the community, assists in determining the effectiveness of programs, reduces duplication of services and assures the health and human services needs of the residents of St. Johns County are met. They review applications requesting county funding for programs that provide health, mental health, substance abuse and social services and submit recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.

Housing Finance Authority
Purpose: Increase the supply of affordable housing opportunities through tax–exempt and taxable bonds and other available program resources.

Industrial Development Authority
Purpose: Financing and refinancing projects for the public purposes described in the Florida Industrial Development Financing Act, for the purpose of fostering the economic development of St. Johns County.

Library Advisory Board
Purpose: The purpose of the Library Advisory Board is to advise the Board of County Commissioners on the establishment, operation and maintenance of free public library service within St. Johns County.

Mid-Anastasia Design Review Board
Purpose: The purpose of the Mid-Anastasia Design Review Board is to determine compliance with Part 3.08.00 Mid-Anastasia Overlay District of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.

Ponte Vedra Zoning & Adjustment Board
Purpose: Regulate and restrict the height and size of buildings; to regulate and restrict the intensity of land use; to regulate the area of yards, courts and other space about buildings, to classify, regulate and restrict the location of commerce and industries and the location of buildings designed for specified industrial, commercial, residential and other uses within the Ponte Vedra Zoning District.

Recreation Advisory Board
Purpose: An advisory committee that provides a sounding board for new ideas, assist in solving problems, act as liaison when called upon to other governmental bodies, represent the Recreation and Parks Department’s posture on sensitive issues in the public arena and to assist in the establishment and carrying out of goals and objectives and budget preparation to provide leisure time programs and facilities.

South Anastasia Design Review Board
Purpose: The purpose of the South Anastasia Design Review Board is to determine compliance with Part 3.07.00 South Anastasia Overlay of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.

Tourist Development Council
Purpose: The purpose of the Tourist Development Council is to effectively and efficiently develop, advance, improve and promote St. Johns County tourism. The Tourist Development Councils primary responsibility is to serve as an advisory Council to the Board of County Commissioners by recommending funding of facilities, programs, or contracts which are primarily for the purpose of and related to the development, advancement, furtherance, improvement, or promotion of tourism.
