Land Acquisition and Management Program Board (LAMP) - 9 Members
Purpose of Committee: The LAMP Conservation Board shall serve as an advisory board to the St Johns County Board of County Commissioners on issues involving the acquisition, conservation and management of Environmentally Sensitive Lands, Archaeological Sites, Historic Sites, Recreational lands and Aquifer Recharge areas.
Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be a registered voter in St. Johns County.
  • Seeking representation from all five County Commission Districts.
  • Must have experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas including: Agriculture, Archaeology, Business/Finance, Eco-Tourism, Education, Engineering, Environmental, History, Parks, Planning, Real Estate, Recreation, Soil/Hydrologic and Nature Sciences, such as Biology, Botany, Geology or Zoology (Please note five of the above areas will be represented at all times).

Meeting Schedule: This board shall meet quarterly, with the initial meeting date to be determined, based on appointment of LAMP Board members.

Recreation Advisory Board – 3 Regular Members
Purpose of Committee: An advisory committee that provides new ideas and assists in solving community recreation problems to help ensure leisure time programs and facilities for residents of St. Johns County. The Recreation Advisory Boards primary responsibility is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners.
Qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of St. Johns County.
  • Prefer a Representative from District 3.

Meeting Schedule: This Board meets monthly at 1:30 PM in the County Auditorium, 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine, FL 32084.

Adjustment and Appeals Board (3) – 2 Regular and 1 Alternate
Purpose of Committee: The purpose of the Adjustment and Appeals Board is to hear requests for code interpretation and cases for unsafe building abatement codes. The Adjustment and Appeals Board primary responsibility is to hear and decide appeals of orders, decision or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and interpretation of the Building Code.
Qualifications: Seeking two regular members who reside within St. Johns County and have knowledge and experience in the technical codes that are regulated by the Florida Building Code. Also seeking one alternate member, representing the building industry.
Meeting Schedule: This Board meets on call as needed in Conference Room 1A/1B of the County Permit Center, 4040 Lewis Speedway.

Health & Human Services Advisory Council (1 Regular Member)
Purpose of Committee: To evaluate human services programs in the community, assists in determining the effectiveness of programs, reduces duplication of services and assures the health and human services needs of the residents of St. Johns County are met. Review applications requesting county funding for programs that provide health, mental health, substance abuse and social services and submit recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.
Qualifications:Applicants must be a registered voter in St. Johns County. Current vacancies include:

  • Professional from the disciplines in Health and Human Services.
  • Prefer a Representative from District 4.

Meeting Schedule: This Board meets on-call as needed during application review period and on the third Thursday of each month at 4:00pm in the Health and Human Services Building, Kingfisher Conference Room, 200 San Sebastian View St. Augustine, FL 32084.

Fire Code Board of Appeals (8 – 3 Regular & 5 Alternates)
Purpose of Committee:
To rule on matters relating to the Fire Code and its enforcement in accordance with NFPA Section 1.10.
Qualifications: Applicant must be a County resident. Seeking those with experience in one of the following: Engineering or architectural design; General contracting; Fire protection contracting; Building code enforcement; and Legal. Seeking three (3) members who are non-county residents that are professionals with arts, cultural, or heritage organizations or institutions with experience utilizing events as tourism demand generators, one of which is an alternate with voting privileges only in the absence of one or more regular members.
Meeting Schedule: Meetings of the Board of Appeals shall be held quarterly on the 3rd Monday of March, June, September, and December at 1:00 PM in Conference room 1, of the St. Johns County Permit center. Located at: 4040 Lewis Speedway, St. Augustine, FL 32084.

Mid - Anastasia Design Review Board (6 - 4 Regular and 2 Alternate)
Purpose of Committee:
The purpose of the Mid-Anastasia Design Review Board is to protect natural resources, maintain and enhance the diverse and unique character of the Mid-Anastasia Overlay District and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board’s (DRB) primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.08.00 Mid-Anastasia Overlay District of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.
Qualifications: Must be a St. Johns County resident demonstrating interest in the history and design of the Anastasia Community. Appointees to the Design Review Board shall be qualified through the demonstration of special interest, experience or education in design, architecture or history of the Mid- Anastasia community.

  • Seeking applicants residing within the Overlay District, on Anastasia Island and north of Weff Road and Satsuma Avenue.
  • Members are required to file a financial disclosure with the Supervisor of Elections.

Meeting Schedule: This Board meets the second Thursday of every month at 3:00pm in the County Permit Center, 4040 Lewis Speedway.
