- St. Johns County will host a public meeting from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, in the St. Johns County Auditorium, located at 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine, to begin the process of a Countywide Vulnerability Assessment. Those unable to attend will be able to watch live at www.sjcfl.us/gtv. St. Johns County encourages the public to participate in this process by taking the St. Johns County Vulnerability Assessment Survey. The survey will remain open until Oct. 27.

- St. Johns County has launched a new website with an online survey as one part of its efforts to engage the public to better understand their preferences on potential economic development opportunities in the Hastings community and nearby areas. The online survey is available until Nov. 19. There are also two public engagement meetings scheduled for Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Oct. 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hasting’s Library, 6195 S. Main St., Hastings, FL 32145.
- The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) unanimously approved the Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Budget of $1,665,664,624 and unanimously approved a flat millage rate for FY24 at the Sept. 19 BOCC special meeting. This is the fourth consecutive FY that the millage rate has not been raised and remained flat. - St. Johns County will temporarily close the South Ponte Vedra Park, located at 2993 S. Ponte Vedra Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, to complete a $305,529.63 restoration project from Sept. 18 to Sept. 28, 2023, weather permitting.
- St. Johns County Hosts Successful Public Meeting for the Community to Vote on Hastings Community Center and Library Architectural Designs – St. Johns County hosted a successful public meeting on Sept. 12 at the W.E. Harris Community Center for attendees to review and vote on architectural design concepts for the Hastings Community Center and Library.
- St. Johns County is seeking volunteers to walk our beaches in all-weather conditions to remove debris and survey the wrack line (line of seaweed) for washback sea turtles. A washback sea turtle is a post-hatchling sea turtle slightly bigger than a hatchling, as it has already left its nest and traveled the ocean. Storms and certain wind conditions from August through November can push washback turtles back onto the beach. - St. Johns County has released two new draft reports on the Summer Haven River Study website as a part of the public engagement process to address the impacts storms have had on the flow of the Summer Haven River and, in a separate report, the critical erosion at Summerhouse. The reports are available for download and public comment at https://bit.ly/SHRstudyPublicComments. St. Johns County is planning future public engagement meetings. - St. Johns County Launches Recycle Coach – Recycle Coach is live! We have teamed up with Recycle Coach to help educate our residents on proper recycling! By downloading the Recycle Coach app or visiting recyclestjohns.com, you can get your curbside collection schedule, sign up for alerts, and quickly learn how to dispose of different waste materials properly. The Recycle Coach app also has image recognition software. Just take a picture of an item, and it will tell you if it is recyclable! - St. Johns County launched a new emergency notification system to provide residents with critical information during emergency situations. The new Alert St. Johns system will enable residents to get critical information in a variety of situations including severe weather, unexpected road closures, water advisories, missing persons, evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods, and incidents that may threaten public safety. The St. Johns County Administrator Selection Committee will be holding meetings in the St. Johns County Auditorium on the following dates:

The St. Johns County will hold a Meet and Greet on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the County Auditorium. The purpose of the Meet and Greet will be to meet the final candidates selected for in-person interviews for the St. Johns County Administrator position.
The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 beginning at 9:00am in the County Auditorium. The purpose of the Special Meeting will be to conduct interviews for the four (4) final candidates selected for the County Administrator position.

September 27, 2023 - St. Johns County Hosts Rep. Tom Leek to Discuss Legislative Priorities – Today, St. Johns County hosted Rep. Tom Leek, District 28, at the St. Johns County Administration Building, 500 San Sebastian View. Rep. Leek serves as Chair of the House Appropriations Committee and Chair of the Joint Legislative Budget Commission in the Florida House of Representatives. St. Johns County Offering Assistance with Past Due Energy Bills for Low-Income Seniors – The Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP) provides heating/cooling (Electric) bill assistance to an elder who is in immediate danger of losing home energy.
